Kat
Farrell is Kripalu
certified and has studied
extensively under Baron Baptiste
for over ten years. She is an
Associate Baptiste Power Vinyasa
teacher. Kat is also deeply
inspired by Rodney Yee, whose yoga
videos inspired her home practice
and who caused her to completely
fall in love with yoga and decide
to become a yoga teacher at one of
his teacher training workshop in
the space that is now OmVibe. She
has sought out and studied under
most of the living yoga masters,
including David Swenson, Rod
Stryker, Duncan Wong, Patricia
Walden, Donna Fahri and Ana
Forrest. This is why she feels that
studying under a master teacher is
such an incredibly powerful and
palpable experience. There is a
direct energetic exchange,
imprinting and infusing on the
higher levels of vibration and
awareness.
Kat is humbly accepting of her
designation of "yoga master" which
was bestowed on her by the teaching
staff at Kripalu and by her
mentors. She is one of a small
handful of individuals to have
experienced a spontaneous prana
flow, or Kundalini awakening while
at Kripalu under the guidance of
Yoganand, Michael Carroll, and
witnessed by her peers and staff.
She is proud to have had a very
high number of her students become
inspired to begin teaching yoga and
is known as a "teacher's
teacher." Click here to read

Laurie
Lyons began her yoga
studies in 2001. After exploring
several different styles, she found
Ashtanga and immediately became hooked.
Ashtanga is a dynamic style of yoga
based on the teachings of Sri K.
Pattabhi Jois. The classical version of
American power yoga, this method
combines deep breathing called "ujjayi"
with flowing movements called
"vinyasa". Additional tools are the
"drishti" or point of focus and
"bandhas" or energy locks. All these
factors combine to create a cleansing
heat in the body and a clear mind. With
dedicated practice, the result is deep
transformation on the physical, mental,
and spiritual levels. In 2003 Laurie
completed teacher training with David
Swenson, one of the foremost American
authorities on Ashtanga. In 2006, she
travelled to Mysore, India where she
spent a month studying Ashtanga with
its founder, Pattabhi Jois. When Laurie
is not practicing yoga, she performs
with the Naples Philharmonic. She is
currently in her 10th season as a
percussionist with the orchestra. |
